A night in the Inferno « Thread Started on Sept 17, 2007, 11:01pm »
Title: A Night in the Inferno Warning: May include stronger content: Graphic Violence, Adult Situations Note: Open Story
Straight, glossy, jet black hair tumbled over his broad shoulders and down his back, skimming the base of his spine in long airy threads. Complexion was pale, though made more so by his ebon locks, than by aberrant means. Eyes of sulfuric amber glinted within.
Attire was simple enough, a loose fitting ebony Marquis shirt worn over black trousers. Although he wasn't what one would consider handsome, still he possessed a unique charm that made him unnaturally attractive.
The rhythmic pulse of music beat against his chest, reminding him momentarily of a heart that had long ceased.
Between his fingers rested a lit clove cigarette, left a pleasant sweet aroma in his wake.
Ancient Egyptians believed that upon death they would be asked two questions and their answers would determine whether they could continue their journey in the afterlife. The first question was, 'Did you bring joy?' The second was, 'Did you find joy?' in his hollow existence, joy came to him intermittently, like an orgasm in the throes of intercourse, but never lasting happiness.
Perhaps he had as a mortal, but that had been so long ago. Coming here kept him sane. Kept him connected to the faded memory of humanity.
His eyes swept across the room, filtering out those on the dance floor and piercing through shadowy corners and too his surprise he spotted a young mortal woman that had always brought warmth to his cold unbeating heart. He could smell the sweet ambrosia that was her blood that coursed through her veins. Jealousy filled him as he watched her dance with the man who he felt was undeserving of her undying fidelity.
His mind drew disturbing images; painting sadistic scenarios and for a moment loss of contact with reality as his primal vampiric nature gnawed at soul; a demanding bestial instinct which he tried to seal away into the recesses of his mind. A task that grew more daunting as his blood matured with age.
As the spell of psychosis released his mind. He laughed at how someone like psychotherapist Eugen Bleuler, would react to his bouts with supernatural Schizophrenia.
He told himself to blink and the cigarette in his hand helped remind him to breath. Two human instincts, he had lost through time and as he drew smoke into his lungs, he continued his search for someone he knew.

Smoke rolled by Relligan's nose like the crying spirits of a long dead past. Relligan sighed softly under his glass of whiskey, which he held at eye level. He stared forward through the smoke. This scene was as cloudy as a dream. As frightening as a nightmare. As cold as life.
Relligan was dressed in black jeans, a tucked in white t-shirt, and a leather jacket. took a sip of his drink and looked to his right.
"You know pal, those cigarettes are going to kill ya." Relligan said over his shoulder to Lucien. He put his glass on the bar with a satisfying knock. "Yet, what kind of person walks so silent, breathes so perfect, and has such a violent aura?"

A sulfur colored cognative gaze fell upon the mage. The vampire could see the shimmer of energy that flowed in the mortal patrons blood. Through out his very long existence, he had not known any sorcerers and was unsure of what to expect from one.
He could not help but wonder what sorcerers blood would taste like. Would it be a euphoric experiance? Or would the magicly charged blood burn its way down his throat like hydrochloric acid.
Alas, he could not explore that thought any further. He knew the wards of this club held strong and that no violence could take place with in its walls.
“So I've been told,” he said with a laugh. “But, I'm not too worried about that... And in regards to my aura, it is truly difficult not too when one who lives in such a violent city.”

Jack watched the exchange with a certain fascination. He felt Lucien's bloodlust, and sympathized for him. But Jack doubted that he would want any of Relligan's blood, if he wanted to get drunk he could just drink more liqour. On that thought Jack took another gulp form his drink. Chilled vodka, as always. He hadn't fed in a while, so Jack reminded himself to keep an eye open.
Jack wore his usual getup, black pants, black buttoned shirt, and as always his trusty black steel toed combat boots. He had checked his coat at the door, a black leather duster with crimson red stitching on it. He wore his dark black hair loose and hanging down to his brow, A single ring adorned his right middle finger, and peeking out from under the collar of his shirt you could see a modestly thick silver chain holding a pendant.
Jack's eyes lost their focus as he quietly murmured, "Or has led such a violent life." Jack regained his focus and his attention returned to the present. "So Lucien," Jack continued, "What exactly is the reason we are here? I assume we have some sort of business to discuss?" Jack took another drink from his glass wondering what the answer to his question would be.

Lucien smiled, as a look of friendly recognition flashes between the two vampires, "You should talk my friend." he said with a lighthearted chuckle and greeted him with the usual pat on the back. “I had the most interesting phone call tonight, from someone who knows an awful a lot about us and since this place is sort of a sanctuary, I thought that we should have a proper introduction here.”

An attractive, well dressed, amber haired gentleman in his late 30’s, emerged from the crowd with the aura of arrogance. He exuded the overbearing personality of a man who was used to getting what he wanted and as this mortal sauntered over towards the three men, Lucien noticed several militaristic individuals trying to blend into the crowed, however, no matter how hard they may try, it was obvious that they did not belong in such an establishment.
“Lucien, isn’t it? Oh my! Jack and Relligan as well, how wonderful. The name is Alexander Helios and I must admit, it is a pleasure to meet you all, I have learned so very much about you." He said with a formal bow and a cynical half-hearted smile. He could care less if they liked him, only his grand agenda mattered. The inferno had become the stage and they had become the players.

Jack looked up at the voice and looked around first, seeing the "gaurds" of the man who had spoken. The man's presence was very odd, not usually seen in a human. Jack felt the man's want to kill him, almost a need. And had Jack not been in a protected club, he would have ran. Like a girl. You just didn't mess with Alexander Helios, anyone who was above the norm just didn't mess with that name. Wether it be kindred, lycan or mage. Alexander Helios was not someone you wanted to be in touching distance with.
Jack was very well informed about this character, the CEO of a weapon defense company, specializing in defense from the arcane. Jack had also come very near to being a victim of one of said defenses. Not a very good experience. He hoped this night wouldn't end in death...or true death.

Across the room, a smile glimmered in the darkness. Mantrovant gazed at the patrons of his establishment. Noticing the presense of an old friend as well as a sinister aura surrounding another. Stepping toward a shadow he vanished.
Lucien gazed upon the brazen mortal."Really, what do you know?" "I know more about you than you know about yourself" replied Helios. "Then what do you want?" Helios paused, pretending to gather his composure. "I've heard about your exploits, its my distaste to make your acquatance. I just wanted to openly introduce myself, so that you will know whom is responsible for your suffering."
A man appeared with some drinks. "Here is your drinks friends. Alim sahd'hed oktar rathun, I'm here brother, peace will be upheld. spoke within Luciens mind. All three men present all glanced in the servers direction. Lucien looked upon the server and casually nodded. The server just grinned and made his way back to the bar.

Jack lifted his glass towards the server, giving him a slight nod. Jack moved the glass towards his mouth, taking a small sip. Jack looked towards Lucien and arched one of his eyebrows and a small smirk crossed his features. Jack wondered what other surprises this night would bring, and wether they'd be welcome or not. Jack's thoughts were leaning towards the latter. A minuscule frown passed Jack's face before he looked up and smiled brightly. "Well Mr. Helios," Jack began, raising his glass as if in toast, "It's a pleasure meeting you here tonight. No doubt this will not be the last we see of you, and you're going to make our unnatural lives miserable, without a doubt,et cetera, et cetera. Just remember,\...I'm the one that likes it rough." Jack winked at the man before taking a hearty swig of his drink, devouring the drink. "Why don't you take a seat? I'm sure our lives could do with some misery right now. Give us your life story, explain your natural hatred towards us, please. I don't think I've had my ears bleed in years, honestly. Join us?" Jack scootched over and patted the spot right next to him in the booth. Well, you couldn't blame Jack for not being sarcastic. A sarcasm he developed over the years, it came out at the most innapropriate times. Like now.

Relligan stayed quiet for once. Its not because he was sober, but because Jack had all the sarcasm the room needed. So, Relligan was contented with sitting back, sipping his drink, and remaining oblivious to who this man "Helios" was. Besides, if he, Jack, AND Lucien were all there, what could go wrong? He was sure the three of have each accidentally taken out city blocks before.
Still, Jack wasn't the one to be this relentlessly sarcastic unless it was important. Relligan was also disturbed by the change of language in mid-conversation. Thats never a good sign. A mage often learns that in a hurry.
Relligan cranked back his drink. 'Lets see just how much he knows' He thought to himself.

"You're treading on very dangerous ground Mr. Helios." Lucien said, remaining in control, never revealing the true primal nature of his emotions.
"I know exactly what ground I tread Lucien." Helios said mockingly. “Your kind has existed among humanity for far to long... So enjoy your drinks gentlemen, because tonight you face extinction.”
A group of very large men flanked Helios. Dressed in black shirts which had the words 'Security' printed on the back in bold yellow lettering. "Sir we must ask you to leave." one bouncer said while placing a massive paw upon Helios'
Helios had remained composed up until now, rage swelled in him like a growing storm. Swiftly he removed the bouncers hand from his shoulder, simultaneously contorting his wrist to the braking point. "Don't ever... touch me again." and with a quick shove, Helios through the bouncer free and into his fellow packmates with a strength that surpassed any mortal. "Don't worry, I am leaving." he said, while removing a handkerchief and cleaned his shoulder as if it had become stained with excrement and moved towards the clubs exit.
Lucien's eyes watched Helios' exit. “I don't appreciate being threatened, I intend to teach this human a little respect. I'll see you all soon.”
Lucien exited the bar and entered the limo that was waiting for him. With a resounding BOOM!!! the shook the club, as the limo erupted into flame.
